OUR IMPACT

JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH 2021
As we head into the new year with a fresh start we have already set up a number projects as the Winter season is often the most difficult for those in need.
In January we are teaming up with LI CARES to provide over 100 coats for children. These coats will be new and will provide the children the protection and warmth they need against the cold January elements.
February has us teaming up with local Boy and Girl Scout Troops to collect 300 units of food. Post-holiday season is the most difficult time for food pantries as they often run out of reserves. Our goal is to replenish as many as possible within the first week of February.
March has us working hard to send at least 50 kids to camp this Summer! Summer camp can be an incredibly enriching experience for children. It creates a sense of community where children come together to have fun while learning lifelong lessons such as independence, teamwork, resilience, making connections and developing a variety of social skills.

DECEMBER 2020
December was a busy month!
We sponsored gift "necessities" for the homeless youth of the Walkabout House. These teens are all in school and working part-time jobs. Yep, you heard that right; they are homeless and are still attending school full-time and working part-time. Therefore we feel compelled to carefully select the best suited gifts for these underprivileged children in order to help them thrive and succeed.
We have also teamed up with Paumanok Elementary School and donated $1000 to create holiday food baskets for needy families. Along with food donations from the students, we are able to create baskets that are not only enjoyable but provide essential sustenance as well.
Lastly, we held a Holiday raffle with over 150 tickets sold! As a result we raised over $2800 that are helping to benefit our Winter projects; Smile Train Surgeries, Walkabout House and Together We Rise partnerships and Blessings in a backpack.
Thank you to all the wonderful and thoughtful people who helped us reach our goal!

NOVEMER 2020
Smile Train is a wonderful international children's charity that is dedicated to providing sustainable practices and solutions to children with cleft lips and palates. Many children with untreated clefts have difficulty eating, breathing, hearing and speaking.
We've had the good fortune of being able to sponsor four cleft palate surgeries through Smile Train. Each surgery costs $250 and changes the child's life forever as they are finally able to develop communication skills and receive proper nutrition to keep them healthy. We are aiming to make this a recurrent practice of ours and help Smile Train at least three months out of the year.

OCTOBER 2020
We sponsored clean water projects for 20 families and made a $700 donation to 8 Days of Hope. This nonprofit organization provides disaster relief for families facing critical lack of resources. They work with local businesses and governments to meet a particular community's physical needs. Their services range from providing clean water, clearing disaster debris, salvaging personal property, and even rebuilding homes.
SEPTEMBER 2020
We made a donation of 20 specialized Medi-Port t-shirts to J ZIPS. Medi-Port t-shirts are specialized shirts that facilitate access to a patient's chemotherapy port. J ZIPS was founded by 15 year old Jordan who, while struggling through brain cancer, discovered that these Medi-Port t-shirts were not available for children. He started J ZIPS to help make these shirts for kids who need them.
